i have a list of 3000 zip codes, can i convert to city, st format
If I have a long list of zip codes, is there any way to automatically convert
them to the appropriate city and state in a new column instead of looking up every single one? |

You would need to know the city and state to which the zip code belonged.
What you would need to do is have a table that lists ZIP code, City, State and then run VLOOKUPs on that table from your list of ZIP codes. One place to start your research would be he http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._United_States Dave -- Brevity is the soul of wit. Even better: http://www.census.gov/tiger/tms/gazetteer/zips.txt
This is a comma delimeted file; in order to use its data you need to import it into Excel, and use the text-to-columns tool in the Data menu to separate the data into individual columns. If you have questions about the VLOOKUP I mentioned in my other response, post back. Dave -- Brevity is the soul of wit.
