Default cell formatting shows the formula not the value

Hi all,
Hope someone can help with this. I some how have forgotten how to correctly
format a cell when the formula that is typed in shows vs the value.
IE =sum(Range) shows instead of the actual sum

Thanks for the reminder!
CRS is an ugly thing when it happens to the ones you love!! :) Give
generously to the CRS foundation!

Either of two problems.

1. You have formula view enabled.

Hit CTRL + ' to toggle off/on.

2. The cell(s)column was pre-formatted as text.

Change format to General then F2 and ENTER on the cells.

If you have a great whack of these to do, EditReplace

what: =

with: =

Replace all.

Hi Greg

It sounds as though the cell has been pre-formatted as text
Change the cell format FormatCellsNumberGeneral and press F2 to edit
the formula and press Enter.

Alternatively, you may have the toggle set to display formulae, rather
than their results.
Try pressing CTRL + ` (that's Control plus the grave accent, usually
found on the key above the Tab key)
This is a toggle, and pressing it alternately will switch between
formula view and results view.
