Default where is sumproductif

to Biff, Epinn and Bob Phillips
Guys, cool down and be cautious, youre trying to be emotional, if you cant
beat it, sleep on it€¦Biff, remember about the thread on Datevalue() where you
point out that the result on the function form box will not be correct since
the help files is specific about text input. Then you guys keep on giving
formulas with sumproduct that is not in the helpfiles and function form
box€¦.Now who has the interchangeable attitude under this mental forum ? You
surely have just a taste of your choice€¦nothing to do about the real forum
purpose which is to simulate the real Microsoft product. Are you a
brainwashing group that try to place the forum on advertisement
purpose?€¦Making the users to be dependent on other external input €“which may
dismay the future users. Next time take care of the wording like
blacklisting another forum member, cause it may shower back to you forever.
Forum challenge is not bad, its a mental ability test to assure that we are
on the right track. Eyes wide open ! Focus not on forum members background
but rather on your meaningful answer. As simple as that !
Finally, your internal INVESTIGATION on any members background and
emphasizing it thru this forum is purely OFFENSIVE cause it may not be the
intent of this forum€¦.I do not know who among us has the real sensitivity to
continue under the domain of this forum. Good luck and may God Bless you!

Bob,

I agree with every single word in your post. I look at the *motive* behind the questions. If you compare the writing skill of romelsb and that of the more recent personnel you can easily tell that the person is pretending that he/she has a language problem.

A few hours ago, Driller posted a question and then within about half an hour p (same person) posted the following under the same thread:

...... maybe you need to re-post on other forum ...... <<

He/she is not just trying to make a point but also to challenge the forum and the MVP's. I see this as a waste of resource. I won't even go near any threads where this person shows up. In other words, I won't be part of his/her game.

Please note that he/she is changing the address.

I don't think it is that innocent. Driller, romelsb, 4pinoy have asked
questions and been particularly obtuse about the response. If it were a
language problem fine, but they do seem to be trying to make some point,
suck people into endless meaningless debates, and generally acting in what I
deem a trolling manner. And p has started posting nonsensical responses.
Even ignoring means that I have wasted my time in reading them.

I will certainly add them to my blacklist. And to reduce chances of being
told I am feeding the trolls, I personally won't get involved in any further
debate.

They're just asking questions. They're kind of eclectic questions but that
might be due to the "culture" (and language) difference.

Not that that's a bad thing! <<

Not a bad thing to use different user names and ask the same question

(e.g.
SUMPRODUCTIF) over and over?

Can you clarify and elaborate?

Are you referring to culture shift?

I am not sure if we have the same frame of reference.

By "culture" I don't mean ethnicity.

From the dictionary - the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and
practices that characterizes an institution or organization <a corporate
culture

In this case, it is forum culture.

What I try to say is that all of a sudden there seems to be a bunch of
people (when in fact there is only one) questioning about the integrity of
formulae posted, Excel, MVP's etc. etc. which is a deviation from the day

to
day practice of users helping users solve problem. This is the culture
(shared attitude, values, goals etc.) I am referring to.

I'll do my best to keep quiet in the next few days unless there is a need
for me to clarify. Remember I said I drew too much attention to myself?

Not that that's a bad thing!

It's obvious that English isn't their first language and it's hard to
understand them sometimes.

Thank you, Biff. I was thinking the same thing.

I think we can add

p (see below)
romelsb
to your list.

From: "p"
Subject: A ? for our Excel Guru's and MVPs
Date: Monday, November 20, 2006 2:21 PM

Bob, remember romelsb? He is the one who was very loud about the TODAY( )
in a report title for the lst half of the month and also for the second

half
of the month when Roger and you had a template in mind.

I just don't think that the culture of this forum can transform in such a
short period with *a bunch of people* questioning about ......

What's next?

That was a strange thread. Pay no attention .sumproduct is already an IF
formula that uses criteria.
