Many people with no programming experience mistakenly consider the use of
Excel's Worksheet functions to be programming. The correct place those questions is the Excel Worksheet Functions Group. However, if you have questions about VBA programming, then the Excel Programming group is most appropriate. Does that help? *********** Regards, Ron XL2002, WinXP "rml" wrote: Sorry, i am quite confuse....I do not know where I can efficiently post my questions....if I need help for VBE or anything about UDF, which of the forum can give me the most help I can receive..Is it under this forum or on the Excel Programming Forum ? The guidelines are fairly straight forward....post your question where you believe it will get the best exposure and the appropriate response for what you are trying to achieve. Keep in mind that the group you choose will influence the kind of responses you get. If you want to know how to sort a range and you post your question in the Excel Programming group don't be surprised if you receive the VBA code to do that in your response. That same question in the Worksheet Functions group may result in complex formulas that return list items in sorted order. However, a range sorting question in the General Questions group should result yield instructions on how to use the Excel menus to sort a range. I hope that helps. *********** Regards, Ron XL2002, WinXP "rml" wrote: Thanks Ron....then what about the Excel Set-up and General Question...How can it be distinguished with Worksheet functions and Programming....I hope we have guidelines.... thanks a lot...
Will it be nice or is it possible to post a thread question on all these 4 forums simultaneously under one window, to get more better results...? Yes...BUT...make sure you Cross-Post.
Absolutely DO NOT *multi-post*. Here's the difference: When you Cross-Post, you create ONE message that goes to more than one group. That message is simultaneously tracked by those groups. Any response in one of the groups automatically displays in each of the Cross-Posted groups. If you use the web interface, click the "Advanced Options" hotspot to create the list of groups to Cross-Post to. If you use a news reader...enter each group in the TO: section. When you multi-post, you create a separate message for each group. Those messages are NOT related and responses do not automatically populate to the other groups. Consequently, you could have one expert in each group posting the same response without knowing that the question has already been answered. Does that help? *********** Regards, Ron XL2002, WinXP "rml" wrote: thanks a lot...
