What is the technical term for using the (=) symbol in excel for cutting and

Equal Sign, see topic "About calculation operators" in your Excel Help,
but how are you associating this with cutting and pasting If you paste from a cell to another cell the formula will be adjusted. If you paste from the formula bar the formula will not be adjusted. I doubt that is what you are trying to determine though. --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "Excel Stupid" <Excel wrote in message ... I will guess that you mean "linking" by entering the = sign then pointing to
another cell or sheet and hitting ENTER. Help explains "linking" quite well.
