Default How do i protect specific cells in a shared workbook?

I want to share a workbook, but don't want anybody to be albe to change
certain cells at all (except me). I have tried the "protect and share
workbook" thing but it means that you have to do track changes and then
assign more passwords.

What I did was unlocked the cells I want people to change, then protected
the worksheet. Then I shared the workbook. After doing this I realised that I
had forgotten to allow people to format cells when I first protected the
sheet. When I tried to unprotect the cells, I couldn't until I unshared the
workbook. But then when I typed in my password it won't accept it. I know it
is the right password and I have tried typing it with capslock and without
just in case it was on when I first set it.

Basically I want to know how I can unlock those cells and why it won't
accept my password.

Thanks,
Alison

When you entered your password to unlock the spreadsheet, were you at the
same computer that you were when you first locked it?
