Default lookup or countif

Hello,
Another question about a match. My lookup is in D1198 thru D1500. I need to
locate the information in column D1 thru D500 and return the result from
Column A1 thru A500. Any suggestions.
Rose

Try this:

=INDEX(A$1:A$500,MATCH(D1198,D$1:D$500,0))

Copy down as needed.
