Can anyone explain why there are "ghost" blank cells when a pivot table is
present on a worksheet. If you have a pivot table that starts in B1 and if you select all of column A and perform Edit/Go To/Special/Blanks, the selected cells are only through the last row of the pivot table. If you expand and contract the pivot table and perform the same blank cell selection, the selection is not the last row of the pivot table but the last row of the previous most expanded pivot table. Does any know how to reset or get rid of the "ghost" cells? -- David at The University of Illinois |

It's not just pivottables that cause this. Excel will keep track of the last
used cell for all its worksheets. But Debra Dalgleish has some techniques for resetting this lastusedcell at: http://www.contextures.com/xlfaqApp.html#Unused David P wrote: Can anyone explain why there are "ghost" blank cells when a pivot table is present on a worksheet.
