Default I can't see the cell reference (i.e A, B, C, 1, 2, 3). How do I .

Somehow the row and column headings are gone. I can't change the width of
the columns or row height. What did I do to make them go away and how do I
get them back?

in Excel 2003 or 2010 click on the left side of the row you can see.
when you have the little thin black cross, click and drag the row towards the center of your screen, you will see the columns to the left appear.

you should see at least one, then highlight the column you see to the left and right click ONCE to get the menu and select UNHIDE.

This drove me crazy for a few minutes, I hope it helps you. :-)
