numbers in text format
i have downloaded a report that contains a column full of numbers that are
not recognized as numbers but rather text and can therefore not be used in the SUM formula. the column contains over 13000 rows. is there anyway to turn these numbers into numbers - aside from hitting F2 and enter on each and every cell? thanks. |

you can also use this formula and leave them as text
=SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A13000)) "hotelmasters" wrote: i have downloaded a report that contains a column full of numbers that are not recognized as numbers but rather text and can therefore not be used in the SUM formula. the column contains over 13000 rows. is there anyway to turn these numbers into numbers - aside from hitting F2 and enter on each and every cell? thanks. |

Click on the column (to highlight the entire column), go to Data Text to
Column, select Finish.
