I am trying to use the auto filter function on a sheet that has about 47000
rows in it. The column I want to auto filter has about 14900 different values in it. So many of the values are repeated. The problem is that when I open the auto filter, all of the different values are not available. Only the first 1000 of them. Is this normal? Is it a limitation of the auto filter function? I can use custom and pull the info that I need, so that is working. Just curious... Steven K. -- Steven Keeling Pal Services DSCR Richmond VA |

Yes AutoFilter has a limit of 1000 unique items. Have a look at the
following link for additional information: http://www.contextures.com/xlautofilter02.html#Limits -- Regards, Dave "Steven Keeling" wrote: I am trying to use the auto filter function on a sheet that has about 47000 rows in it. Ah, that's what I thought. I had just never ran into this situation before
with that many unique records. Thanks!! Steven K. -- Steven Keeling Pal Services DSCR Richmond VA "David Billigmeier" wrote: Yes AutoFilter has a limit of 1000 unique items. The 1000 limit isn't really the autofilter's limit. It's the limit of how many
unique entries show up in that dropdown. You can still filter (using custom and typing) to get any of the values in your list. Steven Keeling wrote: Ah, that's what I thought. Yes, I had that figured out. I was just trying to fine another way to do it
without going custom and typing it in. Thanks! -- Steven Keeling Pal Services DSCR Richmond VA "Dave Peterson" wrote: The 1000 limit isn't really the autofilter's limit.
