Default Save Linked Doc in Another Folder Without Changing Link Path

I have 2 Docs...1 is the a web file with data that is linked to another Doc.
At month end, the web file will be archived for August, however, the linked
to Doc will still have the path to the web file which will remain the same
label. In other words, Web File Labels will be 1 through 31 for September and
1 through 31 for August which will be archived.

Is there any way to freeze Web File August data (which will still be viewed
but not updated). and allow Web File September data to pop to the other
linked Doc?

The sought result is: Auto-pop linked August data, Archive that frozen Web
File data in another location, Then use Same Web File Labels for new
month-Auto-pop September data without changing any links.

Any help will be appreciated.
