Default Using Comma in customise option

Sorry my query is rather long.

We use different comma system in our country (Bangladesh, probably in
India also). Our units and thousands are same like others but for more
bigger number we use lac (lakh) or crore. For example:

1,00,00,000 this is 'Crore'
1,00,000 this is 'lac' or 'lakh'

When I was trying to use customise cell format using ##,##,##,##0.00 by
selecting the cell either as 'Number' or 'Currency format'. Excel
accepted this code in the format option but in the worksheet this did
not give me the result. Then I went to 'Control panel' and 'number
format setting'. Where I changed the currency digit groupping from a
drop down option (already there) to 12,34,56,789.

Regioanl Options /customise/currency/digit grouping/12,34,56,789

Here it also accepted this code for the currency and number format but
in the worksheet it did behave as before ###,###,###.00 (comma at every
3rd position).

My query can anyone suggest me any option where I could make the Excel
works for our traditional Comma system for the number or currency.

SAM

Use Google's Group Search:

http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search

Look in Groups *excel*, search for:

indian number format

You'll find many links, I can't advise you on which one is best!
