Why not just use CTRL+F to find the word you're looking for?

Well, I don't know of a function that will do what you're looking to do, but
why not record a macro that opens up the Find dialog box (the window you get when you hit CTRL-F) and assign that macro to a button which you place at the top of the screen? Alternatively you could create a user defined function but I'm not sure what the code for that would be. Sorry I can't be of more help.
