hi Stephen,

You need to keep unlocked that cell where the List is made, when you
protect the worksheet

thanks

Shail,
Thanks for your response. I have tried that. When I use the list without
protection, there is a border around the list, and it allows me to add
additional rows. When protected, it keeps the border, but won't allow me to
expand the list with new data. I realize that I didn't give you all the
information.

Hi Stephen,

The steps for keep unprotected your dropdown list:

When your list is ready
1. Click the cell where you have the list
2. Click --Format-- Cells
3. On the Protection Tab click "Uncheck" the lock check box
4. Click Ok to return back
5. Protect the worksheet

Every cell except the cell where you have the list is protected now.

Hope this works for you.

Thanks

Shail
