Default Is there a way to test color formatting in countIF functions?

I'm trying to enter a formula that will check is see if a "D" is blue or
black, and add up them.

I am doing a nursing schedule, and some are blue and some are black D's. I
need to add up each separately. So far I've only been able to get the total
of them, and not the separate counts.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
