Default items disappearing from pivot dropdown when not selected

Hi,

In a pivot table, how do I ensure that items in the drop down lists remain
on the list even when not selected.
I.e. I want to be able to see all items on the list so that I can select
them next time without going into the layout to add them again

Thanks!

p.s. the items i am talking about are the 'Data' items (i.e. not the column
or row)
