Default VBA equivalent for XLL?

Is there a way for me to put my UDF's and other VBA macros in a
"library" file which I just have to link to from other files?

I apologize for asking such a newbie question, but I did spend some
time searching the web for this and could not find anything.

Would an add-in suffice?
