Default SaveAs in VBA or through interface extremely laggy

I am finding that excel seems to hang for 60-120 seconds after starting to
write the temp file (2k of it gets written) then a long pause, then it does
continue and complete saving.

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this lag? (the file is very small
only 10 MB)

Thanks in advance,

Scott

You call a workbook that is 10M small??? I don't know if the problem
is with the workbook, the operating system, or a virus cheker that may
be causing the problem.

1) Are you saving the workbook as XLS?

2) Are you saving the file to a network location?

3) What type of drive are you saving the file to?

4)Does the workbook take a long time to open as well?

5) Does the same thing happen with a small file?

6) Does the same thing happen with a workbook with and without any
macros?

7) Try saing the file to a different locatiuon on a drive on your PC
rather than a network drive and see if you have the same problem.

8) What operating system are you using and what version of excel are
you using?

9) Does it happen with other workbooks?

10) Is you hard drive badly fragmented or low in space.
