Hi, first time creating an Org Chart in Excel. However, when I go to the Org
chart Toolbar the options in the toolbar are accessible but when I click on Insert Shape, Layout or Select the options are "greyed" and it gives me a message saying I must choose a shape. I do not understand, sorry can someone please help? Thank you. |

Org Chart tool bar greyed out??
Excel is managing the org chart relationships for you, so you can
insert and change the chart without having to manually (re)draw anything. Use the Select dropdown (or click on a shape) to select a shape before trying to insert another shape, otherwise how is Excel going to know where you want to insert it? For example, if you have an employee with three subordinates, and you want to add another subordinate, select the employee by clicking the box. Then go to Insert Shape and you should see the dropdown options available. --JP On Oct 15, 11:14*am, TotallyConfused wrote: Hi, first time creating an Org Chart in Excel. *However, when I go to the Org chart Toolbar the options in the toolbar are accessible but when I click on Insert Shape, Layout or Select the options are "greyed" and it gives me a message saying I must choose a shape. *I do not understand, sorry can someone please help? *Thank you. |
