Default Reacuring subtraction from a balance

Hi

I am trying to get a formula for this.

box 1 has the original value say £18.00
box 2 is the payment say £1.00
box 3 is the new ballance. say £17.00 then i want to use this balance to
take another payment from box 2 say £1.00 then box 3 becomes say £16.00

can this be doen or am i asking to much of Excel?

any help would be much appreciated....

I guess the question is at what point do you want it to stop calculating?
when a cell value = 0 ?
