Possibly VBE or menus disabled?

Hello,

I have an Excel sheet and have an instance where I need to get into the
script editor. The problem is it is not allowing me in. I see no passwords
to
put in and the sheet is unprotected as well as the file. What is stopping
it
from being open? I can go to tools and macros but the script editor is
grey
and will not let me click on it (open it). Is there a password not in
options
and nothing to do with the protect worksheet or workbook that I don't know
about. I think someone did something because an earlier version of the
file
it worked fine.

Any thoughts?
