I was a bit confused by this. First you say you run the macro to create the
graphs, and then you move the charts to another sheet. But then you say you
move the graphs first and then try running the macro. Which is the correct
sequence?
Has it ever worked properly in excel 2007?

Compatibility mode is because excel 2007 has lots of features that previous
versions of excel don't have. If you save a normal XL07 file the older
versions can't read it. So compatibility mode just means that XL07 is
running but you are working in an old spreadsheet version. If you want to
update, open the file in XL07, then do save as and choose .xlsm as the file
type.
