Default F9 not working

I'm using Excel 2002. Occasionally, pressing F9 (or even Ctrl-Shift-F9) won't
update a cell with a formula (manual calculation setting is on). I have to
click on the cell, click on the formula, and press Return for the cell to
update. Has anyone ever had this problem?
