Compare and Merge

Can I use compare and merge workbooks and have macros on my files....? if not
what alternative do I have...? I have a large qty of rows and want several
people to update so I want to create duplicate files and use compare and
merge but I do have a macro to run advance filters and the macro is giving me
some errors.
