Multiple users experience slowdown ??
I have a read-only workbook which could potentially be opened simultaneously
by many users. Will the workbook and the macros in it slow down proportionately to the number of users ? Will the macros "screw up" (I know this depends on what the macros are doing but assuming they work fine for one or two users) ? Thanks. |

Not that I know.
A workbook uses the memory from the PC of that user. As long as the workbook doens't contain a macro which opens another workbook, I can't find a reason why this might be a problem. -- Regards ; Mark Rosenkrantz -- Spreadsheet Solutions Uithoorn Netherlands (Those who live some 18 feet below sea level) -- E: W: www.spreadsheetsolutions.nl -- "AP" wrote in message ... Thanks Mark - this is nice to know.
Would it make any difference if the workbook is stored in an FTP site and is simultaneously opened by multiple users from various locations - it wouldn't slow down, would it ? I have no experience with that.
Some other thing that might be interesting is the possibility to share a workbook. You can check Excel's help function to read about that. Multiple users can then open and alter numerous contents of of workbook/worksheet. Sure, there are a few restrictions, but it might be worth to know about. -- Mark -- "AP" wrote in message ...
