IS THERE A WAY TO SEARCH FOR AND CALCULATE MULTIPLE EXCEL FILES?
IF GOT MULTIPLE WEEKLY TIME SHEETS IN A FILE ON A SERVER AND NEED TO BE ABLE
TO RUN A SEARH FOR THE ACTIVE WEEK AND PREVIOS WEEK AND CALCULATE TIME FOR EACH EMPLOYEE BY NAME OR ID #. EACH TIME SHEET HAS 7 TABS 1 FOR EACH DAY OF THE WEEK. IS THIS POSSIBLE WITH THE USE OF MACROS OR FORMULAS? -- THANKS BRIAN |

It is possible with a macro. I don't think you want to perform a search
because it takes too long. Instead you want to open up each workbook and make a summary workbook/sheet containing all the employees hours for each two week period. You probaly want to perfrom the summary by employee ID # because names are not always unique. You first have to indentify how the workbooks are stored and named. This problem has been posted plenty of times in the past. I ned some question answered before we proceed. 1) You say you have multiple weeks time Sheets in a file. a) How are these files named? b) How many weeks are in each file? c) Which employees are in each file? d) What are the name(s) of the folder where the files are located? e) How are each week identified? f) How is each employee identified (Where are the names)? g) How is each Time sheet identified? h) Which columns contain the hours worked? i) Which columns contain Employee ID? j) Are there any header Rows or Columns? Post some examples of the data.
