I have just installed excel 2007 and kepping excel 2003 also.

Now whenever I open Excel2003 or 2007, personal.xls opens and shows
visibali on my start bar.
Earlier it was not showing.

Can anybody help please?

Default Personal macro workbook

Open xl2003
Make sure that personal.xls is active
window|hide
close excel and answer yes to the save prompt.

If you're using a separate personal.xls (personal.xlsm???) in xl2007, then
there's an option to hide the window somewhere on the ribbon.

Hi Dave and Ketan

If you're using a separate personal.xls (personal.xlsm???) in xl2007

It is xlsb in 2007

What to do if your PERSONAL.XLS(B) is visible

When you open Excel and you see PERSONAL.XLS(B) in the title bar you can use this to hide it.

Excel 97-2003: WindowHide
Excel 2007 : On the View tab in the window group choose Hide

Then close Excel and say Yes to save the changes to your PERSONAL file.
