I am looking for a programer to help us develope quoting software for our
company. We have several products that we quote on a regular basis. We have
recently listed all products and options on a spread sheet hoping that it is
a good first step to building a program. I have checked on line for quoting
software and found that it is "canned" type software that is very limited. I
have a dedicated staff in house that is willing to work with an outside
programer to build this program. I have a fairly clear picture of whta the
final software should do. I also have competitors software that is very
similar that may be helpful to review. If you are interested in workign with

Spreadsheets are wonderful for doing calculations and showing graphs.
Databases are good for dealing with products, customers and quotes. With a
database you would have a list of products held in one table, your customers
held in another table and a third table linking customers and products
showing the quote date & price. Then it is very simple to show all the
quotations for each product or all the quotations that each customer has
recieved.
Investigate something like MS Access
