I want to create an AddIn for Excel that formats the display of a cell into
Feet, Inches and Fractions of an Inch. My first preference is to simply have it available in the Format Cells, Number Categories called "Feet & Inches", and provide various Types in the drop down box. E.g. "Round to nearest Foot, Round to nearest half inch, Round to nearest quarter inch, Round to nearest eighth inch, Round to nearest sixteenth inch". Here are some other nice to have features in this: Provide a user defined delimiter that goes in between the feet and inches; e.g. a blank space, a dash, null (default would be a space) Provide a user defined delimiter that goes in between the inches and the fractions; e.g. a blank space, a dash, null (default would be a dash) Check box to display Feet (unchecked would show 25" rather than 2' 1") Display negative number with minus sign, or inside parentheses (), using Red, etc. Any advice is appreciated. I have .NET 2008, I'm just not seeing much info on this subject... code examples and pointing me to any suggested reading is very helpful.
