I am trying to create a macro that will perform the following in order:
1) Open Reuters, outside website (not even sure if you can perform this from
a macro)
2) Open an Excel File to update with the Rueters information by hitting the
"Update" popup after opening the file.
3) Close the Excel File

You definitely can navigate a web site from an Excel macro; I've been wanting
to learn how to do it for years and when my son came up against the same need
we worked it out together very recently. There are actually several ways to
do it (as usual when you're programming).

Opening a workbook, saving information in it and saving the workbook again,
on the other hand, is pretty basic; if you're new to this I don't at all mind
explaining it, but did you really mention it only for completeness? Where do
you want to start?

And if (as I suspect) we're going to spend some time on this, may I suggest
that we switch to email, for convenience? Anyone else who wants to
participate and/or listen in is welcome too, but I imagine this will take a
little back-and-forth and navigating this forum isn't always as convenient as
it might be.
