Good morning - hope this is considered to be the correct forum on which to
post this! The message subject really says it all - I have reinstalled Excel after having to rebuild my PC and now can't run any macros, as the security setting is set to "High". Even when I set it to "Medium" or "Low", it's still sets itself back to "High" and another impact of this is that none of my custom functions work either. The Help mentions digital signing, but I can't understand why I would need to do this for macros I've created myself on my own PC. The workbooks that are affected at home work perfectly well at work. Thanks in advance for your help. Pete |

Others have asked about this. It has been a nuisance to me too. In fact, we
had another update pushed out on Monday that seemed to make it reset itself more often. At our office they have it set to Medium. I keep setting it to Low because I only work in my own workbooks, or those from people I know. Any time I reboot it sets to Medium and seems to do so a few more times over the course of the day. I keep resetting it. Eventually I can go days without having to reset it. I rarely reboot anymore. I leave it on day and night, over the weekends. No point in arguing with our IT department. They institute all types of "catch-all" policies that work mediocre for everybody and really well for nobody. Nevermind that engineers use Excel for different purposes than financial or business folks. This is about all I could find: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/or...403071033.aspx Have fun resetting it! Hi, Charlie,
I'll give this SELFCERT.EXE/MAKECERT.EXE thing a go and let you know what happens. Thanks for pointing me in its direction! :-) Pete "Charlie" wrote: Others have asked about this.
