Default Conditional formatting

Hi, I am hoping someone can give me some assistance on this.

I have a spreadsheet with multiple columns and rows, the data is
sorted by employee then on date. I want to conditionally format the
rows based on the dates in the date column.Alternating background
colors from one date to the next.

Example:

all rows for May 1 would have a gray background and all rows for May
2 would have no back ground color.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ed
