one more weird thing with this users Excel --
when ever the user opens up an excel spreadsheet it also opens up the spreadsheet that started this whole issue. -- Thank you, "luv2bike2" wrote: i have set up a VB script for one of my users to use in Excel to delete rows and columns and stored it in the Personal.xls. now every excel spreadspeet that is opened up gets the disable or enable warning box. thats ok for now. the problem is : the user emailed the spreadsheet to a vendor, the vendor made changes to it (which is fine as well the vendor needed to make changes) however when the vendor emailed the spreadsheet back to the user the user received 2 boxes for the macros - 1 for the personal.xls and one for the actual spreadsheet, than another box pops up saying that it can not open the spreadsheet since it is already opened (and it is not opened), the user clicks on OK and the spreadsheet opens up, however changes that the vendor did, did not show up in the spreadsheet. We use MailMarshall to check spam emails, so what i did was forwarded the vendors email to my email account and i was able to open the spreadsheet - i did receive the box about the macros, but no box about another version of it being opened and the changes were there that the vendor did. the user tried to open up the spreadsheet by enabling the macros and when that did not work, the user tried to open the spreadsheet by disabling the macros and still had the same problem. I deleted the vb script that is stored in the personal.xls sheet and still have the same problem. What I am thinking that needs to be done is uninstall Excel and Reinstall Excel to see if that works, however if someone has a better solution to fix this issue i would greatly appreciate any suggestions. -- Thank you, |
