Default Cell Format

I have a client that requires that I give data separated by commas all in the
same cell. The problem is that the data is numerical and no matter how I
change the formatting it doesn't hold.

Ex. the data that I need to give the client is 1225,1278,12 just as it is
typed. I can concatenate and get the info to look like that, then I save it.
When I reopen it, it reverts to 1,225,127,812 which is the proper numerical
use of commas however, even if I define it as a text or general field it
still doesn't work. I can't make a custom field because the data isn't
necessarily 4 digits, 4 digits , 2 digits it changes.

Thank you to anyone who can help me with this dilemma.

Lisa

Hi Lisa

Put a single quote sign ' before the numbers, the ' sign will not show
but excel will recognize the numbers as text.
