Default create search macro based on if cells are merged, or have color in

Hello all.
I would like to make a macro that looks for a specific property of a range
of cells. It's typically a merged row, or a row with a color index.

My thinking is as follows:

Search for colorindex or merged row
If cell colorindex != blank,

application.run ()

fill down to next row where colorindex != blank (no color).

And this is for Excel 2007.
Thank you.
