OLE DB Query Using Cell Value as Variable

Is it possible to use a cell value in my query? My Command Text is EXEC sp_get_excel and I'd like to add a date to that by entering it in an empty cell. Jerry: I'm not familiar with that syntax in CommandText. Is that running a stored procedure? What database is on the back end?
