I think I inadvertently formatted my formula bar so that whatever is in my
cell doesn't show up unless I actually start editing it. However, in order
to start editing, I have to simply guess where my cursor is (or count). Also
I can't see my formulas there.

Anyone know how to change the formatting on a formula bar?

Not totally sure...

Worst case would be to have to re-install Excel, but give this a shot...
