is there any way that i could have all my other worksheets import defined
name ranges from a source worksheet? and having them update every time i open them or change the ranges in the source? i made a data workbook for computing our production costs, and then, made different workbooks for different parts.... all those part workbooks will have to get their data from the source workbook, which already has defined name ranges.... my problem now is, that whenever i change the cell ranges on the defined names in the source workbook, the defined names from all the part workbooks still use the old ranges... all my computations are then wrong or erred. is there any way i could possibly make this work? I'm trying to avoid making all the part cost computations into different worksheets in the data workbook because we have almost around 500 parts, and that would be too much for me to search for thru all the worksheets. at least having each part in different workbooks could give me, or the user, a clearer view of everything.... I've been on this project for months... any help would be greatly appreciated. i'm starting to get tired and frustrated.... thanks. |
