Default excel temp file

hi,
when i save a ms office 2003 excel file ms excel automiticaly create a temp
file.. all time when i click in save button then automiticaly create a temp
file... a lot of temp file create..

anyone please help?

Default excel temp file

If the file names have an .ext of .xar then I believe they are AutoRecovery
files. If that is the case you may want to change the options from the ment:
Tools|Options|Save, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Default excel temp file

The .xar is the autorecovery file, but that should be found in a specified
folder--not usually the one with the workbook that's being edited.

The .exd (not .ext) files are found in the windows temp file.

My question back to the OP was to find out if that temp file was an 8 character
name with no extension (indicating that excel had a problem with the save) or a
file with .tmp extension (could be a result of a misbehaving antivirus program).
