Default active sheet is 'slow' to be active

Strange???
My code starts with wsA.Activate (wsA is set to sheet1)
and then more code like that fills several cells with values, those values
show up on the sheet that was active before I clicked run. It's like the
code didn't have a chance to really make sheet1 active with the wsA.Activate
cmd before it went ahead and pasted in some values for several cells??? Or
am I missing something?
