Default Mirror Workbook

I have a workbook on a shared drive and it can only be handled by power users
entering specific data.

This data needs to be reviewed by managers but we would like to have a
mirror copy available for them to view. We have been through passwords on
the original file etc.

We need a dynamic comparison of the orignal and copy and adjustment of the
copy based on the orginal. What is the best business practice or is there
some Excel type software that now exists?

Though it is not completely clear to me what you are trying to achieve,
possibly the commercial add-in "XL Companion", from yours truly,
will do what you want... http://www.realezsites.com/bus/primitivesoftware

Default Mirror Workbook

Let me try to be more clear.

I have an important workbook say called "tracking". Only 4 managers can
access this workbook and make edits.

For the rest of the working group, I want them to access an exact workbook
replica of this workbook say called "tracking copy".

Should I use a Save As macro in "tracking" to save a copy of the workbook to
a directory which has protected cells?

Default Mirror Workbook

I did something similar for a client.
They even needed to hide certain information until it was finalized.
You could do a simple macro that runs when you save the workbook,
generating another tracking workbook for limited access users.
