Default Using offset to select a range

Does any on know how to use the offset function to select a range in another
excel file

I'm trying to use this with the sumif function, and want to select the
column location based on target location column A

Don't understand the question. Can you post an example of data in each
workbook together with the conditions for the sumif and the result you would
expect in the example of data.

Also this is posted under Excel programming. Do you want the answer in VBA?
