I have tried alot to formulate a chess game in excel but i couldn't so Is

What have you tried then?

I've never actually undertaken getting Excel to play back, but my
strategy would be to take some existing chess algorithm: http://www.gnu.org/software/chess/ using this for example Adapt it to VBA. Map it to the spreadsheet to move pieces. Nothing to it, really!
