Default Menu Selection as an Event

Is there any way to have a user selection of a particular menu command
recognized as an event to trigger a macro? I want the command to execute
normally followed by the macro. i know I can customize the menu bar to
remove the command and force the use of a control to accomplish this
sequence, but I would llike to avoid that if possible.

Al,

Visit Chip Pearson's excellent website, specifically:

http://www.cpearson.com/excel/CreatingCOMAddIn.aspx

It's complicated, but it shows how to capture events from office components (the commandbar,
specifically).

Thanks, Bernie. That's kind of a long way around, but it's good to know.
Think I'll just take kte easy way and create a custom menu.
