Default "Debug" not available

Excel XP & Win XP
What does it mean when I get an error "Object doesn't support this method or
property." and the Debug button is grayed out?
I understand the error. I don't understand the Debug button being grayed
out. Thanks for your time. Otto
PS: I stepped through the code and found & corrected the error.

Was there a password on the module? That will stop the user being able to
see the code and debug button gets greyed out.

No, there is no protection on the code. Other errors I ran into behaved
normally. Thanks. Otto
