Default Custom Data Bars

Hello Jan

From your post, my understanding on this issue is: you wonder how to
customize the Data bars and Icon sets in Excel 2007. If I'm off base,
please feel free to let me know.

"Data bars", "icon sets" and, "color scales" are the three new
visualizations in Excel 2007. They allow the users to format the cells
based on values, rankings, duplicates, or formulas.

As for data bars
(http://blogs.msdn.com/excel/archive/...4/477226.aspx), the only
supported customization of appearance in this release is the BarColor (bar
color), and ShowValue (show value or not). Please refer to the MSDN article
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb255970.aspx for detailed
information about Databar object model.

As for icon sets, according to the team blog for Microsoft Excel and Excel
Services (http://blogs.msdn.com/excel/archive/.../478988.aspx):
"Users cannot add their own icons this release (maybe next time!), so we
have tried to include a good set of useful, flexible icons"
That is to say, we could not add our own icons to customize the icon sets.

Here are a few more blogs talking about the Conditional Formatting in Excel
2007 for your reference:
http://blogs.msdn.com/excel/archive/...g/default.aspx

Please also feel free to give you feedbacks or suggestions in the team blog
for Microsoft Excel (http://blogs.msdn.com/excel/). The developers from
Excel product team regularly checks the customers' feedbacks and try to
improve the product according to the suggestions in the blog.

If you have any other concerns, or need anything else, please let me know

Sincerely,
Jialiang Ge , remove 'online.')

most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex

Default Custom Data Bars

Hello,
yes I wondered how to customize the Data bars and Icon sets in Excel 2007,
or how to create new ones.

Thank you for your comprehensive reference, and I understand it is not
possible in the 2007 version. I will try the feedback. :)

Have a nice day!
Jan
