I'm building an order form where I'd like to include a formula that if a cell
equals a certain state then sales tax will be charged to the grand total and
I have no idea

So for example:

I'm trying to build the formula from cell H29
=if C10=NV then I'd like the sum (H28*G29)

if any other ST shows up then no sales tax would apply and the cell would
equal 0

this is my first post; please redirect me if excel programming is not correct

What you want is something like:

=IF(C9="NV",H28*G29,0)

Excel programming is an o.k. place to post. If all you need is a formula,
it will be supplied. If you need programming, that will be offered as well.
