Excel to Outlook email

My question is, can I have Excel calculate a date and then have excel talk
to OUtlook to send out a reminder on that date about a certain block?

My plan is this: I need to calculate a date, and then have outlook send me
a reminder on that date with certain blocks from excel. Is this possible.
