Default AutoTextMacros.xlt: Solution?

Okay, so it looks like the first flaw with this plan is that I can't
save custom templates in any place other than

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

Is there a way to create templates on a shared drive?
